What are you lot paying per month for gas and lecky? My DD has just rocketed to £250 per month and don’t think that will be enough…ffs

Haven't switched it off completely but only have it on for 15 minutes in the early morning instead of an hour.

It's through Warmer Homes. Just Google warmer homes eco scheme or similar. There is a qualifying list re earnings, income etc and they come to survey and then tell you what you qualify for. I know some get a new boiler or a heat pump but sadly for whatever reason I didn't qualify for that.

I've just had cavity wall, internal wall and 6 solar panels done on a Government scheme. The internal is a bit invasive and I'll need to redecorate but the solar panels are brilliant. Halved my electric usage already and that's without as yet purchasing a battery which are quite pricey.

I just leave it a 4-6 weeks after the payment due date, let them chase me I’d rather have that money in my hands than theirs

tbf I too hated BG and left them for EON years ago. However with times as they are and the world changing (now 2 x electric cars in the drive) I asked EON to give their best EV rates. They replied they didnt have one. BG offered me savings of £1900 pa. I swapped last week. In the interim EON came back having suddenly discovered a tariff they could offer me. It was still £400 more than BG. Watch this space.

Think I moved from BG in 1996 when I realised they was robbing cunts and I could shave 20-25% with other suppliers... so why the fuck would anyone ever be with them nowadays is beyond me... well unless:-
a. You are a lazy cunt
b. Loyal and stupid. Like my dear departed old Nan who refused to move through loyalty.

I've just had to deal with British Gas, and agree with you there 1964.
Mind you, I learnt when leaving them that I had a £300 credit with them and they gave me £30 for missing an appointment.
Ironically, I left them because I thought I was paying too much. Had they had the brains to reduce my DD to something close to my usage then I probably wouldn't have looked into moving to someone else.

Why can't these energy companies do the same as the likes of BT. The whole monthly bill is paid by direct debit so you are neither in debit or credit.
There is no option to do that with some energy companies, BG for one.
Just hoarding our money.

I cancelled my DD 3 months ago and just transfer the required amount monthly.
I urge everyone to do the same.

The Bank of England's top economist has said people in the UK need to accept that they are poorer otherwise prices will continue to rise.
Huw Pill told a podcast in the US that there was a "reluctance to accept that, yes, we're all worse off".
Yeh why don’t you all shut up and accept you’re poorer. In part because of decisions made by the BOE.
